But is it enough? |
Here are some unusual names that some parents have given their Children during the past few years.
Keira - there have been 6,074 Keiras born in the past five years due to the actress Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Pride and Prejudice and King Arthur.) The names of current, popular, celebrities seems to set the trend for the way some parents name their children. Maybe they think that naming them after somebody famous will help their own child to ‘make it’ in the world as a celebrity themselves? It seems it is not just parents ‘worshipping’ their children but people are taking to idolising or ‘worshipping’ celebrities. Perhaps they hope it will help them spiritually - maybe bringing them some luck along the way. They seem to think they have nothing else to worship. Worship is the soul’s desire. But they are empty inside. They cling on to celebrities as if they have the answers. Artists are, by nature, very creative people and often give their children some very ‘creative’ names! Here are some names which celebrities have named their offspring. |

| What's in a Name? |
There is a name, which is above all other names - the name of Jesus.
There is a book in heaven. In it is written the name of every person that ever lived - the great and the good, the famous and the not so famous. But only the names of those that receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour will remain in that book. I hope that your name is. I hope you have not have relied on any fame you have acquired along the way, hoping that it will be enough. It will not. The Bible makes it clear that God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) - He has no favourites! But the Lord “is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) We can rely on only one Name - the name of Jesus. |
