Have you ever told a lie and then had to tell another one to cover up the first one?
Lies trap us.
If we tell or live a lie, we are in constant fear of being found out and constantly having to be on our guard.

Truth on the hand sets us free - to be ourselves, and to be relaxed and ready for whatever work we are asked to do.

Lies give Satan a chance to trip us up and uncover our weak points - this is why it is so important to be clothed all round with truth. The Gospel is the truth of God's word. And when you come to Gods word each day, He will help and guide you into all truth by His Holy Spirit.

Don't go on thinking that you are OK. You are lying to yourself you are doing yourself no favours by giving lee-way to the Devil's lying wonders.

Why not spend a few moments today thinking about Jesus words.

Ephesians 6 v 14

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

..and John 8 vv 31,32

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jesus says
"The truth will set you free."
