Did you know that the Greek word for 'power' is Dunamis? It is the same word from which we get dynamic
and dynamite.
Many kinds of explosive 'power' have been used in warfare - gunpowder, gelignite, TNT, atomic bombs,
hydrogen bombs - all used to destroy people.
But the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit given to the early Church (and still available today) was far more
powerful; it was, and is, a life-giving power.
It is easy to kill people, but only God can raise people from the dead (see Acts 3:15) and only God can give
spiritual life to those who are spiritually dead. (Ephesians 2:4&5)
Think about that tremendous power that first of all gave boldness to the Jesus' previously frightened disciples
and then saved 3000 people in one day.
