Sports Lane was seen as plain
To all but neighbours who would play
All day long the folks played games
To bring themselves Olympic fame

Donald Churdles practised hurdles
Every Monday morn
He would wake up bright and early
At the crack of dawn.

Miss Jean Havelin practised Javelin
Every Tuesday morn
She would wake up bright and early
At the crack of dawn.

Mrs Pat Foot practised Shot-Put
Every Wednesday morn
She would wake up bright and early
At the crack of dawn.

    

 

Mr Sam Lump practised Long Jump
Every Thursday morn
He would wake up bright and early
At the crack of dawn.

Mr Ben Hump practised High Jump
Every Friday morn
He would wake up bright and early
At the crack of dawn.

Laura Friscus practised discus
Every Saturday morn
She would wake up bright and early
At the crack of dawn.

Parson Bunning practised running
Every Sunday morn
He would wake up bright and early
At the crack of dawn.

Olympic day finally came
All the people played their games.
Greeted friends from other lands
Around the arena marched a band.

For neighbours there have changed the name
The Champs they are for what they hold
Have changed the name from Sports to ...

 

G - O - L - D

The Bible speaks of heaven as having streets made of gold. But sadly, not everybody will get to live there.
Only those who love Jesus and who ask Him to come into their lives will go to heaven.

But the good news is that you can come to Jesus now! Just pray a simple prayer like this one.

Dear Lord Jesus, I'm sorry that in the past I have left you out of my life. Please forgive me of my sin and come into my life so that I might be able to walk those streets of gold. Save me Lord. Thank you Lord. Amen.
