The choices we make thoughout life shape the way we live and how our lives unfold.
We need the guidance of parents, friends, teachers and others who take an interest in us, to help us make good choices. If we neglect sound advice from those who love us, making rash decisions and bad choices - then we can expect to pay the price of our folly.
Throughout life there are many choices to be made. The greatest, is what we do with life itself.
We are offered two choices - accept it or reject it.
But, surely, we all choose life, don't we?
Sadly, no.
You see, the problem is that we have not understood what life is in the first place.
Most, think life is this existence; breathing, eating, sleeping - doing all that occupies our time on this earth, even doing 'good' works. Some 'wisely' realise that there is more to life than that, and believe that life is gathering great riches, possesions or fame to themselves.
Both of these lies come from the enemy of our souls - the devil, who seeks to offer life that simply ends in death. He seeks to distract us from making the choice of real life.
Outside of God, there is no life at all, so the only real choice to be made is will we accept God's offer of life or reject it?
Those that have found life in Christ Jesus have made that choice. They have chosen to follow the Lord and to know life in all its abundance. Choosing God – choosing life.
What a peace we have when we can say: We are on the Lord's side, Saviour, we are thine.
