On Tuesday, 22 April, we were privileged to have a visit from Chacko Thomas and his wife from Pune in India. He shared
with us his vision for the children’s work which he started when he took children needing a home into their rented
apartment. At the moment fifteen of these children are being lovingly cared for by Chacko and his wife Elizabeth and a
small team of others.
There is the possibility that they will be able to buy some land - a two acre site is currently available - on which
suitable buildings can be erected. The vision is to provide facilities to care for up to 100 needy children, e.g. orphans,
children of HIV/Aids patients and street children. To become self-sufficient, a dairy farm would also be developed on the
site.
We were greatly encouraged to see how well Chacko was, having last year suffered a heart attack and subsequent by-pass surgery.
Later Chacko spoke to us from Psalm 46- “Be still and know that I am God.” (v10) and “There is a river whose streams shall
make glad the city of God.” (v4)
Pray for our brother and sister as they continue this essential ministry. May the Lord protect and deliver them from the
many dangers involved and keep our brother in good health.
Open Air and Lunch
On Saturday, 26 April, we held our Open Air Witness at Pitsea Market. The weather was fine, it was well supported and was a
powerful witness to our testimony that Jesus is alive. We sang, shared the Gospel and there were those who were involved
in tract distribution and engaging passers-by in one-to-one conversation. We pray that we shall see good results from the outreach.
Afterwards, we met at the church for lunch and fellowship, accompanied by a praise video.
Our next Open Air Outreach in Pitsea Market will be on Saturday 17 May at 10.30 a.m. Plan to be there! It will be preceded
by a special prayer meeting on Saturday 10 May (9.00 am to 10.00 am)
