Be Not Deceived

Do you ever feel that maybe you're being deceived? When out shopping you can't help thinking that they could have squeezed a few more cereals in that pack - and that bar of chocolate seems to be getting smaller and smaller. And of course, who can resist buying that extra loaf when that delicious aroma is coming from near the bread counter?

We are deceived by so many things and tempted by so many others - things made to look so attractive that we just cannot resist them.

The Bible tells us that there is one who is the deceiver and the tempter - Satan, that is the devil. It was Satan in the form of the serpent who first tempted Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit and she, in turn, tempted Adam to do the same.
But we are no wiser now and continue to be deceived by Satan.
He comes to us as an angel of light and tries to tempt us into believing we have no need of God in our lives. But it is believing that lie that will keep us from God.
But God, knowing how we would be tempted says:

"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you". (James 4:7)

You see God is a God of truth and He wants us to know the truth and not to be deceived:

"He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He." (Deuteronomy 32:3,4)

And of Jesus the Bible says:

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)

Don't be deceived any longer - use a simple prayer like this one to find the truth of the love of God in Jesus Christ:

Lord Jesus, I now know that when you died on the cross,You bore the punishment for sin of the whole world in Your own body.
I realise, Lord Jesus, that You died for me and that You paid the penalty for my sin. Lord, I repent of all the bad things I have done; I turn away from all that has tempted me in my past and I ask for Your forgiveness.
Lord Jesus, I give my heart and life to You. Amen.

 If you have prayed a prayer similar to this and believe by faith the truth of it, God has accepted you.
He will never turn away anyone who comes to Him by faith.

Let God now continue to show you His love. Join a church fellowship where the truth of the Word of God is taught.
God will continue to lead and guide you and you will find love and perfect truth.
