I will give you living water

WATER - it's vital stuff.
You can go far longer without food than water. Did you know that your body is 70% water?
In countries where there is no supply of clean water, deadly diseases run riot.
There are still many of countries in the world where this is the case.

Jesus lived in a country that is now called Israel. It's a hot, dry country. They didn't have water on tap.
They had to draw it from wells.
Imagine how they felt when Jesus promised them streams of living water!

Jesus said:

"If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."

(John 7 vv 37/38)

Jesus wasn't promising them plain old H20; He had something far better on offer.
He compared Himself to 'living water' to show how valuable He is.
He was saying that He is just as vital to existance as water.

In a previous scripture, where Jesus met a woman at a well, He said that what He could offer was better than ordinary water.

He said:

"Whosoever drinks of this water (the water in the well) shall thirst again: but whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
(John 4 vv 13/14)

Water is cleansing. That's what Jesus wants for us, so that we might have this everlasting life.
If we trust Him, He offers to cleanse us from our sin and wrongdoing and to give us a brand new start in life.

We want to tell you that Jesus is the only way to find cleansing from sin and to gain eternal life.
If you know that you do not have eternal life and want to make that new start, then contact us at The Church at Gun Hill.
We would be very happy to tell you more!

We care because God cares.
