An Age Old Problem

Have you noticed how older people often have an air of knowledge about them?

Maybe you are an elderly person yourself. If you are, you could probably tell a tale or two about the 'old days'.
You have probably lived life to the full and yet can still remember when you were just a child.

The concern for a lot of people is that getting old means losing our independence. We want to try and cope as much as possible on our own.
It's good to know that society is beginning to give more help to the elderly. Charities such as Help the Aged and Age Concern give time and effort to better the welfare of elderly people.
Getting older often does mean becoming more and more dependant upon others.

But stop for a minute! Having reached old age you can probably remember way back into the past - but have you given any thought to what lies ahead?
Maybe your normal life expectancy has been reduced by the life style you have led, or by illness.
I wonder if you have thought about what will happen when you die?

The popular myth is that we all go to heaven - except the 'bad people' who will go to hell.
But the Bible makes it very clear that we are all sinners - none of us are worthy of a place in heaven by our own efforts.
This means we must rely upon someone's help or face the reality that we too are bound for hell!

Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me". (John 14:6)

Where will you be going?
It's an important question, but, sadly, some avoid the answer. Yet this question needs to be taken very seriously.
Jesus has said that He is the only way to heaven. So if you are not relying on Jesus - who are you relying on?
Maybe you think you are too old and it's too late to change - but eternity is a long time too!

Jesus wants you to have the assurance that your eternal future is secure - now.
Don't avoid this vital issue.

Tomorrow could be one day too late!
