Good News doesn't come any better than this!
You may have thought good news was something that meant a change for the better in your life now. Possibly.
You may have thought that good news was hearing that someone you love who was sick, is now better. Sure!
You may still think that good news is anything that will benefit you in general. Not necessarily!
We all have different perspectives about what makes good news. All different, all affecting us differently and mostly temporal - it doesn't last!
God's perspective on good news is singular. It is the same for you and for me. No matter what our age, gender, colour, race or anything else.
We are all sinners. (oh no, not that old chestnut , I hear you say) READ ON!
Sinners aren't the murderers and rapists. That is only the result of being a sinner.
You are a sinner and so am I. We were born in sin. And we are unable to do anything about it.
Oh yes, some seem to apparently do more wrong than you or I, but can we honestly say we have done no wrong. Definately not!
That cruel word we spoke, that little 'white lie' (actually all lies are as black as sin itself), that time when we just 'borrowed' that thing that didn't belong to us - Oh, I meant to bring it back.
Whatever it may have been, in God's reckoning we have SINNED. And that quite literally means we will not be able to stand in God's presence on our own merit. We have all blown it - big time!
But here is God's good news!
God loves us. He really does.
This is how much.
He saw that we could never stand in His presence. From the beginning that has always been His desire.
So He decided to make a way for us to be able to.
He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ into this world. Here Jesus was mocked, beaten, spat upon and finally crucified.
It's hard to imagine that we would be so cruel, surely the murderers and rapists were responsible for all of that. NO. It was you and me.
Ordinary everyday people, including the religious men of the day.
And when Jesus was dying on the cross He bore in His own body all the sin of the whole world. Every last bit!
Sin must always be dealt with. When the sin of the whole world was dealt with by Jesus it meant this.
That you and I need no longer pay the penalty for our sin. It has been paid for us.
Jesus has done it! PRAISE GOD!
We need now to simply believe God's Word and recieve eternal forgiveness.
It's simple. Just believe it's true and pray a simple prayer like this:
Lord God, I know that I am a sinner and that on my own merit I deserve nothing. But I thank you Lord that Jesus has paid the price for my eternal salvation by dying on the cross and bearing in His body the punishment for my sin.
I now ask you Lord to forgive me and cleanse me and that Lord Jesus you come into my heart and life as Lord as Saviour.
Fill me Lord with your righteousness.
Lord have your way in my life
AMEN
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Rejoice in God's goodness
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
