As the Earth rotates on its axis from west to east we pass into the zone of light where we can see the Sun rise in the East every morning.

We take for granted the very fact that every evening the sun will set and that it shall rise again the following day. And yet we totally depend upon that very fact.
Without the sun there is no light. Without the sun there is no warmth. No energy-giving rays that feed the plants and encourage growth in the crops we need for our food.

There is a greater light - the light of life. And this light is found in Jesus Christ and provides us with all we need for life. His light comes with the warmth of His love and the power of the Holy Spirit who sustains us and enables us grow.

No wonder the Psalmist could write:

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD's name is to be praised.
(Psalms 113 v 3)
