The Lord from Heaven
Back to God's World | Back to Heaven

In Psalm 8 v1 we read the words of King David:
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

The Lord’s glory is revealed through the glory of the heavens. Who cannot wonder at the marvelous work which God has created? How excellent is Thy name in all the earth.

Verses 3 & 4 continue:
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

God came down from heaven to reveal Himself to man in the Son, Jesus Christ.
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: (Verses 5 & 6)

Jesus came into this world from heaven. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 8 v 9:
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

He came to show the love He has for mankind and with His hands He healed many. He went humbly to the cross and paid the price for all sin. Now, Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Majesty upon high crowned with glory and splendour. The world is His footstool.

Our God still rules heaven and earth no matter what men might say.

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
