Through the oven door

It was expected that I would arrive in the month of August, but being in a hurry, I arrived in the month of May.
When the doctor came he said "The child is dead: I will give you a certificate so that he may be buried."
Oh, what a shame to go to all that trouble. For when the doctor had gone, yours truly began to whimper!
What should they do now? My grandmother knew.
She quickly opened the range oven door and popped me inside! That door meant warmth, life and comfort to me. I was saved: I lived.
There is a door of entrance to life eternal.
It is for those under sentence of death because of their sins.

All the world is guilty before God:
Jesus said "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved"(a)
This door, namely Jesus Christ, is entered by faith. (b)

Now I was a small boy for my age: my younger sister was taller than me. When we went together to Sunday school I was told "Sorry you are too young to come."
I was disappointed, but a friend explained for me and I was accepted.v Jesus, when He was here said "Let the little children come to me." (c)
Then, He pointed out to adults "Except you become as little children, you cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven." (d)
I recall a day during the Second World War when, as a lad newly left school, walking down a familiar street, I suddenly thought "What about eternity?"
Why should a decent living young man have such worries?"
It was because I knew that "There is none good but One. That is God" (e)
I just had to find the answer - but where?
Soon I was back in the old tin chapel where in Sunday School I had heard the Good News.
I found there that the answer was the forgiveness of sin and eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

A jailer, shaking like a leaf, once asked a prisoner "What must I do to be saved?" (f)
He believed and was saved. I believe and am saved. Do you? Will you?
Whoever, by faith, takes Jesus as Lord is saved from sin and Hell can know victory over temptation. Grandma had faith in the oven and entrusted me to it.
If you have faith in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, then trust yourself to Him.
