Flying Blind

Flying his private plane over Los Angeles, an 80 year old pilot had a sudden heart attack and died at the controls.

Without a moments hesitation, the passenger, 69 year old Charles Law - who had never flown a plane before - took over the wheel of the Cessna 150 and landed it safely at Upland California.

"I don't know how he did it, " said Police Sergeant John Cameron, who led a convoy of ambulances and fire engines to the air strip. "It was what you might call a miracle."

It certainly was.

After he landed, Charles Law had to be led gently from the plane.

He is blind.
