The Shoulder
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.(Luke 15: 4,5)
When we read the story of the shepherd who finds his lost sheep we see the very nature of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He seeks the lost.
He finds the lost.
He bears the lost one upon his shoulders, safely returning it to the fold.
Our Saviour will never leave even one of His sheep in danger of being devoured by the enemy. He will bear us upon his shoulders and bring us home to eternal safety!
