Bones
Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
(John 19:32-36)
Refering back to the Old Testament (Psalm 34:20), John was showing forth more of God's Word coming to pass. The Psalmist spoke prophetically of Jesus when he said He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
It was the custom of the Romans to break the legs of the victim of crucifixion when they wished to hasten death. Without the legs to support the body weight the victim was unable to breath and thus died from asphyxiation.
But when the soliders who crucified Jesus came to Him to break his legs, He was already dead.
His life was not taken from Him - He willingly gave it.
What a Saviour we have in Jesus! He went to the cross, and exactly according to the prophetic Word of God, He laid down His life as a ransom for the sins of the whole world!

Did you know?
...that the strongest bone in the body, the thigh bone, is hollow. Ounce for ounce, it has a greater pressure tolerance and bearing strength than a rod of equivalent size in cast steel.
