The Joints
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
(Hebrews 4:11-12)
God's Word has amazing power.
Those who read it with just their eyes, but do not allow their heart to lead them, will find it a dry and dull book. The Bible itself says that the carnal mind (the unsaved mind) cannot understand it - and that is true.
The Bible is God's Word to all but it cannot be understood with just our mind. We need to come to it with an open mind and an open heart.
When we do this, then God is able to get to the centre of things in our life. He is able to cut right through the 'clutter' in our lives and show us what we need to see (although it will most likely not be what we want to see). He will clearly divide - using the truth of His Word - between that which are our own plans, and that which is His perfect will for our lives.
Let God's Word cut through and let Him speak to you.

Did you know?
