The Flesh
The body we have been given on this earth is clothed in flesh. Our mortality is evident by the way that we see our flesh gradually alter as we age. The older we get the more our flesh deteriorates until eventually it gives out all together, we die and our flesh decays.
And there is nothing we can do about it!
Similarly our actions, our way of life, are dictated by our flesh. Our earthbound nature will always try to ensure that we do only that which pleases self.
But there is something we can do about that!
When we are born again of God's Spirit the flesh no longer has control of our lives. Our new nature is the result of God dwelling in us by His Holy Spirit. This means that although our flesh may try to dictate, we can live in the spirit and know a tremendous vistory over the flesh.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:6)

Did you know?
...that the skin contains many sense organs sensitive to touch, pressure, pain, cold and heat. The information they send tells the brain what is happening at any point on the skin.
The receptors for touch, heat and cold are near the surface but pressure recptors are buried deep in the skin. Free nerve endings act as pain receptors.
