The Knee
We bow the knee as a sign of submission and allegiance to another. Elijah had seen all those around him stop worshiping the God of Israel and instead turn to Baal (a false god). He could see no hope for himself because he assumed he was all alone. But God reminded him that it was not so when He said:
I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. (Romans 11:4)

People made their choice and they followed whom they chose to follow. But that will not always be so.
There is coming a time when the One who alone has the right to receive the adoration, worship and allegiance of all, will take His rightful place.
Jesus is coming back to judge and to rule this world. And when He returns He will receive all the worship which is due to Him. And He will receive it from ALL. There will be no exceptions:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:8-11)

Did you know?

...that the normal knee-jerk reflex involves no input to or from the brain.

The knee-jerk reflex is happens when the knee is tapped below the knee cap.
Sensors that detect stretching of the tendon of this area send electrical impulses back to the spinal cord which in turn automatically sends a signal back along a nerve to muscles at the front of the thigh.
These muscles are then activated to contract, causing a kick.
