The Palm
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. (Isaiah 49:16)

God wanted to show to His earthly people, Israel, just how much He loved them. When they might have imagined that God had forsaken them, He emphasised His love for them. He told them that they were carved into His very hands - never to be forgotten or discarded but to be cherished and held secure.

Jesus has made that same promise to all who have placed and who will place their trust in him.

His love for us is great.
His love for us is eternal.
...and we are carved into His hands by the nails of Calvary's cross.

Did you know?

...that the skin on the palm side of the hand and fingers is unique?

It has:
no hair, usually has neither colour nor the ability to tan, it is tough and durable, yet sensitive and it is anchored down to the bones beneath through an intermediate layer which keeps the skin of the palm from sliding around like a rubber glove when we use our hands to grip and twist.
