Body Talk
|
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the
earth. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see
God.
(Job chapter 19 v 25 - 26)
Job had a confidence in God. His confidence was founded upon his experience of the
faithfulness of God. Job was confident that after he was dead and buried - after his
mortal body had returned to dust - that his God would one day resurrect his body.
Despite the many problems we may face in this life - sickness, disease and sufferings in
the body, this too is the hope* and confidence is within every blood-bought child of
God.

The promise to all that have put their faith and trust in Jesus, the Salvation of
God, is that when we die our bodies will be raised again.
Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a
moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and
the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
Body Talk sets out to discuss issues concerning the body, our physical body, but
also to speak of the hope* that rests with those whose ultimate confidence is in God and
who are the body of Christ, the Church. We trust it will encourage you to move on in the
body of Christ.
* a feeling of trust (Concise Oxford Dictionary)
